Description
Knead this dough in a larger container; the dough rises well.
Ingredients
- Whey - 1 qt
- Semolina - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour the dry yeast into a bowl and dissolve it in a quarter cup of warmed whey, adding a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar. Place the yeast in a warm place to 'rise' — that is, to start bubbling.
Step 2
Sift the flour through a sieve, add salt, sugar, semolina, eggs, and gently pour in the warmed whey while stirring continuously. Then add the 'risen' yeast. Mix the dough until it becomes a homogeneous mass without lumps. Next, add the vegetable oil (melted butter can also be used) and mix well again.
Step 3
Now cover the dough with a lid and place it in a warm place to 'rise' — that is, to increase in size. The dough should rise 3–4 times. Each time after it has risen, the dough needs to be stirred. The dough should rise for 2–2.5 hours.
Step 4
Once the dough is ready, start baking the pancakes. If the dough is made correctly, it should pour onto a well-heated, ungreased skillet like foam. When the pancake is cooked, carefully flip it to the other side.
Step 5
Pancakes can be served with jam, sour cream, and berries.
