Description
With the specified amount of sugar, the panna cotta is not very sweet. If you prefer desserts that are sweeter, add a little more sugar.
Ingredients
- 10% cream - 8 fl oz
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Gelatin - 1.1 oz
- Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract - to taste
- Strawberry - 6 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a small saucepan, heat the cream, add sugar, vanilla extract, and bring to a boil. Set aside.
Step 2
Dissolve the gelatin in 6 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the gelatin to the cream, stir well, pour in the milk, and gently heat the mixture without bringing it to a boil, stirring vigorously to avoid lumps of gelatin.
Step 4
Pour the cooled mixture into molds and refrigerate until set or overnight.
Step 5
Before serving, make the strawberry sauce: blend several ripe strawberries with a small amount of powdered sugar until smooth. If using frozen strawberries, heat them in a saucepan with a couple of tablespoons of sugar, cook for 3 minutes, and blend into a puree. Drizzle the sauce over the plated dessert and garnish with mint.
Step 6
If the panna cotta does not come out of the mold easily, dip the bottom of the mold in hot water for a couple of minutes.
