Ingredients
- Milk - 1 qt
- Farm fresh eggs - 6 pieces
- Corn Starch - 4.2 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Vanilla salt - to taste
- Puff Pastry - 8.8 oz
- Butter - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2
Bring the milk to a boil, adding vanilla (ground pod/vanilla extract/vanillin) beforehand.
Step 3
While the milk is heating, mix the eggs with the powdered sugar in a mixing bowl; add the cornstarch and stir until smooth.
Step 4
Gradually pour the boiling milk into the egg, sugar, and cornstarch mixture; stir.
Step 5
Place the cream over low heat and, stirring continuously, bring it back to a boil, then cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cream thickens.
Step 6
Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a greased baking dish. Pour the custard into the dish and bake for 40 minutes.
Step 7
The flan is ready. Serve it cold, optionally with a scoop of ice cream.
