Description
The cake should be tender in both texture and flavor. For a celebration, you can complement the cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a light cream frosting.
Ingredients
- Canned Peaches - 10.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 7.1 oz
- Brown Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Margarine - 4.2 oz
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the shortcrust pastry: sift 250 grams of flour, mix it with sugar and cubed margarine. Add a pinch of salt. Rub the mixture until it resembles crumbs. Then add an egg yolk, mix, and incorporate 3–4 tablespoons of cold water. Knead the dough and wrap it in plastic wrap, then refrigerate for 30–35 minutes.
Step 2
While the dough is chilling in the refrigerator, start preparing the sour cream filling. In a bowl, lightly beat the eggs, then add the sour cream, brown sugar, and a tablespoon of flour. Mix well.
Step 3
If using canned peaches, place them on a paper towel to remove excess moisture. If using fresh peaches, peel them and pat them dry as well. Then, slice the wedges into quarters.
Step 4
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a well-floured surface.
Step 5
Grease the baking dish with butter, transfer the dough into it, shape the edges, arrange the peach slices on top of the dough, and pour the cream over.
Step 6
Bake in a preheated oven at 374°F for 30–35 minutes.
