Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 19.4 oz
- Milk - 17 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Clarified Butter - 3.5 oz
- Water - ½ cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 25 teaspoons
- Dry yeast - 0.9 oz
- Donut Peaches - 6 pieces
- Safflower Oil - 20 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - ½ cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, let's prepare the dough. Start with the yeast. In a glass of water, mix the dry yeast and a spoonful of sugar until well combined.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the milk and clarified butter. Add the egg, flour, salt, and the dissolved yeast. Knead the dough thoroughly. The ideal dough should not be liquid, nor should it stick to the bowl or your hands.
Step 3
Grease your hands with a small amount of sunflower oil. Divide the dough into 24 equal balls. Flatten each ball into a disc, sprinkle a spoonful of sugar in the center, and place a quarter of a peach on top.
Step 4
Pour the sunflower oil into a pot and heat it over medium heat. The oil should be boiling but not burning!
Step 5
Fold the prepared discs like dumplings, ensuring the peach is inside. Pinch the edges closed. Place the donuts seam side down into the boiling oil (not all at once, perhaps four at a time). Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side. Remove the cooked donuts onto a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Step 6
Transfer the donuts to a serving plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
