Description
Peaches in mint syrup
Ingredients
- Donut Peaches - 6 pieces
- Fresh Mint - 6 teaspoons
- Raw cane sugar - 3.5 oz
- Dry White Wine - ½ l
- Lemon - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a preheated skillet, squeeze the juice of one lemon, pour in half a liter of dry white wine — any decent variety of Pinot Grigio, add sugar, bring to a boil, and cook, stirring constantly, until all the sugar dissolves in the wine and juice and the liquid begins to thicken into a syrup. At this point, add chopped mint to the syrup and cook, stirring, for another minute.
Step 2
You need to pour this syrup over the peeled, halved, and pitted peaches. Leave them in a cool place so they can soak up the syrup and chill. You can keep them in the refrigerator for up to a day, but that's not necessary; doing so can give the peaches a perfumed flavor.
