- Pears - 6 pieces
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Butter - 1.9 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3 oz
- Puff Pastry - 12 oz
- Walnuts - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Peel the pears, cut them into quarters, and place them in a bowl with lemon juice to prevent browning. In a saucepan, melt the butter, add the sugar, and heat slowly while stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Add the pears along with the juice and lemon zest, stirring constantly until the pears become soft.
Step 2
Using a slotted spoon, remove the pears and arrange them in a single layer in a round, shallow baking dish. Heat the remaining mixture in the saucepan until it turns into a golden caramel, then drizzle it over the pears.
Step 3
Roll out the pastry to be 5 cm larger than the baking dish, cover the pears with it, tucking it in on all sides. Prick several times with a fork and bake for 20–25 minutes until done. Allow to cool, invert onto a plate with the pears facing up, and sprinkle with walnuts. Serve with cream or ice cream.
