Ingredients
- Sugar - 7.9 oz
- Butter - 5.8 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 0,2 teaspoons
- Grated Ginger Root - 0,2 teaspoons
- Pears - 4 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the dough, combine 125 g of butter, 100 g of sugar, flour, and an egg, then knead until a ball forms. Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, let's prepare the filling. Add the remaining sugar to a saucepan and stir until it takes on a caramel color. Add the remaining butter, ginger, and cinnamon. Peel the pears, remove the cores, and slice them into wedges. Place the pear wedges into the caramel and mix well. Reduce the heat and sauté the pears for 10–15 minutes, until they become tender but still hold their shape.
Step 3
Arrange the pieces of pear evenly at the bottom of the baking dish over the caramel.
Step 4
Roll out the shortcrust pastry and cover the pears. Gently tuck the pastry underneath the pears. Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10–15 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
