Portokalopita (Orange Pie)

Ingredients

  • Phyllo Dough - 15.9 oz
  • Vegetable Oil - 4 fl oz
  • Orange Juice - 25 fl oz
  • Baking Powder - 1.1 oz
  • Semolina - 3.2 oz
  • Orange zest - ½ piece
  • Water - 25 fl oz
  • Liquid Glucose - 4.2 oz
  • Sugar - 26.5 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Leave the dough at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Place the other ingredients in a bowl and mix.

Step 2

Then, break the dried dough into pieces by hand and add it to the bowl as well. Mix.

Step 3

Grease a 30x40 cm baking tray with oil and spread the resulting mixture evenly. Preheat the oven to 248°F and place the tray inside for 35-40 minutes.

Step 4

Meanwhile, mix the water, sugar, and glucose and place it on the stove until boiling (let it boil for 5 minutes).

Step 5

When the portokalopita is ready, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup over it.
