- Wheat Flour - 35.3 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Milk - 12 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Dry yeast - 0.9 oz
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Butter - 4.2 oz
- Salad Potatoes - 17.6 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
To prepare the dough, mix the dry yeast with the flour, add a teaspoon of salt, pour in the warmed milk (100°F), and knead the dough. When a homogeneous mass is formed, beat in the eggs, add 70 g of melted butter and sugar. After kneading the dough, place it in a deep bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Step 2
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Peel and boil the potatoes. Chop the onion not too finely and sauté until golden brown. Mash the potatoes, add a little hot milk, butter, sautéed onion, salt, pepper, and dill to taste. Mix well.
Step 3
When the dough has risen, knead it again, divide it into small portions. Roll out each piece of dough, place the filling in the center, and shape into pies.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 374°F. Line a deep baking tray with parchment paper, grease with butter, and place the pies at a small distance from each other. Bake the pies for about 40 minutes. 10 minutes before they are done, you can brush them with melted butter or beaten egg yolk.
