Description

Puff pastries filled with chicken and cheese.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry - 17.6 oz
  • Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 21.2 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Cheese Spread - 3.5 oz
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Mayonnaise - to taste
  • Butter - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

While the dough is thawing, let's prepare the filling.

Step 2

Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces, season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a skillet, add the fillet and sauté over high heat for a couple of minutes, until all the pieces stop sticking together and turn white. Reduce the heat.

Step 3

Finely chop one clove of garlic using your preferred method and add it to the chicken. Cook for a couple more minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. Transfer to a bowl.

Step 4

While the filling cools, roll out and cut the dough. You can cut it into rectangles (I used triangles). It depends on the shape of the pastries you want.

Step 5

Add a little mayonnaise to the chicken and mix well. Grate the cheese using a coarse grater. Separate the yolk from the egg white.

Step 6

Place the chicken filling and grated cheese onto the prepared pieces of dough. Brush the edges of the dough with lightly beaten egg white, then fold and press them together tightly to prevent the cheese from leaking during cooking. Pierce the top in several places with a fork to prevent puffing up.

Step 7

Place the pastries on a baking sheet (it's better to line it with parchment paper and lightly dust it with flour) and brush them with the remaining egg white (for those who prefer a more golden crust, use the egg yolk).

Step 8

Place in a preheated oven and bake at medium heat until a golden crust forms, approximately 20 minutes, depending on the size of the pastries.
