Ingredients
- Puff Pastry - 14.1 oz
- Pesto - 8.8 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Thaw the dough at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Roll out the puff pastry into two equal rectangles.
Step 3
Cut each rectangle diagonally into two pieces to create 4 rectangular triangles.
Step 4
Place two triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, so that they form an isosceles triangle. Pinch the edges of the dough together in the center of the triangle.
Step 5
Spread the pesto over the triangle of dough.
Step 6
Cover with the remaining dough in the same way.
Step 7
Make cuts along the edges of the triangle into strips about 3 cm wide, leaving the center intact.
Step 8
Twist the strips of dough into spirals.
Step 9
Brush the Christmas tree with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 10
Serve the Christmas tree as an appetizer with wine.
