Description

Puff pastry pie with fish and rice

Ingredients

  • Blue Ling Fillet - 21.2 oz
  • Puff Pastry - 1 piece
  • Onion - 4 pieces
  • Rice - 3.5 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
  • Parsley - 1 bunch
  • Whole egg - 1 piece
  • Salt - to taste
  • Vegetable Oil - 2 spoons
  • White Pepper (whole) - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Thaw the package of dough.

Step 2

Cook the rice in salted water, then let it cool.

Step 3

Cut the fish fillet into pieces, season with salt and pepper. It's better to use fresh fish rather than frozen. A very delicious pie can be made with salmon and trout.

Step 4

Peel the onion, finely chop it, and sauté until golden brown. At the end of cooking, add the flour.

Step 5

Rinse the parsley, pat it dry, and chop it finely.

Step 6

Divide the dough into two uneven parts: one will be the base of the pie, and the other will be used to make the lattice. Roll out the larger portion, place it on a baking sheet, and brush it with vegetable oil.

Step 7

Spread a layer of rice over the dough, then add half of the fish pieces, sprinkle with half of the parsley, and add half of the fried onions. Next, repeat the layers: fish, parsley, and onions.

Step 8

From the remaining dough, create strips for the lattice and place them on top of the pie.

Step 9

Mix the yolk with a teaspoon of water and brush it over the pie. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then place it in a preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.

Step 10

The pie can be enjoyed both hot and cold.
