- Whole egg - 2 pieces
- Puff Pastry - 15.9 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1.4 oz
- Milk - 9 fl oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Cognac - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar - 4 spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Moisten a baking sheet with cold water, place strips of puff pastry on it with a small distance between them, and let them thaw for 10 minutes. Then, place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 392°F and bake for about 15 minutes.
Step 2
Brew or prepare coffee using a coffee maker.
Step 3
Beat the egg yolks well with sugar until completely dissolved. Then mix in the flour, and gradually add the warm coffee. Incorporate the resulting mixture into the warm milk and heat over low heat until thickened.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar until creamy. Gradually fold in the cooled cream. Finally, add the brandy.
Step 5
Cut the baked and cooled strips horizontally in half (like buns). Spread cream on the bottom half and cover it with the top half.
Step 6
Before serving, dust the pastries with powdered sugar.
