Description
Waffles for Halloween: when you need to use up the leftovers from a pumpkin, bake these waffles with the flavor of traditional American pumpkin pie. The large amount of 'baking' spices — cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon — allows them to be classified as desserts, adding a gingerbread aroma, while brown sugar gives a caramel note. If you want to deviate from the classic recipe, you can add a bit of zucchini or carrot to the orange puree — it will turn out well too. When mixing the batter, stop when it resembles a thin sour cream or batter for fluffy pancakes — this will ensure the waffles have a crispy crust, a toasted edge, but a tender, 'omelet-like' center.
