Quick Blackcurrant Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 6.2 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1.4 oz
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Semolina - 2 tablespoons
- Blackcurrant liqueur - 24.7 oz
- Sugar - 0.6 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Separate the yolk from the white.
Step 2
Sift the flour and rub in the vegetable fat and butter. When the dough resembles bread crumbs, add 2 tablespoons of cold water and knead (the dough should not stick to the sides of the bowl). Place the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Roll out the dough into a round flatbread and transfer it to a baking sheet greased with vegetable fat. Brush the dough with egg yolk and sprinkle a thin layer of semolina on top. Place the blackcurrants in the center of the flatbread, sprinkling the berries with sugar. Fold the edges inward.
Step 4
Brush the surface with whipped egg white and sprinkle crushed sugar pieces on the dough.
Step 5
Bake at 392°F for 35 minutes, until the crust turns golden brown.
Step 6
Serve warm with sour cream or ice cream.
