Description
Quick Turtle Cake with Sour Cream Frosting
Ingredients
- Sour Cream - ½ kg
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Sugar - 0,7 glasses
- Wheat Flour - 1,30 glasses
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ spoons
- Cocoa Powder - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar - ½ glasses
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the dough, add baking soda to the flour and mix well. In a separate bowl, mix a little less than a cup of sugar with eggs (without whisking) until smooth. Combine the resulting mixture with the flour, also mixing until homogeneous. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper (to prevent the cookies from sticking to the sheet, you can dust it with flour or grease it with oil), and drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the sheet to form small cookies (or cakes). Bake for about 7–10 minutes at 356°F. Transfer the finished cakes to a bowl and let them cool completely.
Step 2
While the cookies are baking, let's prepare the cream. To do this, mix all the sour cream with the powdered sugar until smooth. Then, set aside 1/3 of the mixture and add one or two tablespoons of cocoa powder (I used hot chocolate powder), stirring until well combined. As a result, you'll have two creams of different colors — white and brown.
Step 3
Dip the cookies into the white sour cream and stack them in a mound. Fill the gaps between the cookies with the white sour cream. For the top layer of our 'Turtle' dessert, dip the last cookie in the chocolate sour cream, then drizzle the remaining chocolate cream on top and smooth out the shape.
Step 4
Refrigerate for a couple of hours, preferably overnight — this way the cake will be fully soaked.
