Description
Instead of kalonji and cardamom, you can use star anise 'stars'. This will also be healthy, delicious, and beautiful.
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 17.6 oz
- Quince - 17.6 oz
- Sugar - 1½ cups
- Cardamom - a pinch
- Toasted Cumin Seeds - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the quince and cut it into thin slices across. Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds, wash it, and cut it into slices as well.
Step 2
Place the pumpkin and quince in a pot, sprinkle with sugar, and let it sit until syrup forms (you can leave it overnight).
Step 3
Bring to a boil over high heat. Add the cardamom seeds and kalonji (black cumin) and simmer on low heat for half an hour, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Pour into sterilized glass containers and seal tightly with a lid. Store in a cool place.
