Description

The filling can be absolutely anything your imagination allows!

Ingredients

  • Salad Potatoes - 4 pieces
  • Wheat Flour - 11.1 oz
  • Salt - 0.1 oz
  • Water - 8 fl oz
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Milk - 3 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and boil them in salted water.

Step 2

In a bowl with flour, add half of the warm water and salt, and mix with a fork. Continue adding the remaining warm water while stirring constantly. Transfer to a floured surface and knead a stiff dough. (I added another half cup of flour to the dough. My cups are small). Cover it and let it rest for half an hour.

Step 3

The potatoes are cooked. Mash them to make a puree and let them cool.

Step 4

Peel the onion and sauté it over low heat until golden brown.

Step 5

Mix the onion with the potato puree. Add salt to taste.

Step 6

Divide the dough into 4 equal parts, rolling each into a thin pancake. Place the filling on one half of the pancake, then fold it over and seal it — with your fingers or a fork, ensuring no air remains inside.

Step 7

Heat a large skillet over high heat and fry the qutabs without oil for about 4–5 minutes on each side. (Be careful, the longer the skillet is on the heat, the faster the qutabs cook. Personally, my last one cooked for 2 minutes on each side)

Step 8

Remove the qutabs from the heat onto a plate and place a piece of butter on top. Serve immediately with yogurt or sour cream.
