Rainbow Sour Cream Cake with Poppy Seeds
Ingredients
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 5 pieces
- 20% Sour Cream - 14.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Poppy seed paste - 3.5 oz
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
- Yellow Sugar - to taste
- Red Food Coloring - to taste

Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cream the butter with sugar. Add the eggs and mix. Add the sour cream and mix. Add the baking soda (dissolved in vinegar) and flour, knead a not very thick dough (the consistency of sour cream). I also added poppy seeds (soaked in water for 15 minutes beforehand), mix well.
Step 2
Divide the dough according to the number of food colorings. Add the colorings and mix. I ended up with 4 colors.
Step 3
Grease a baking pan (I used a 26 cm diameter pan) with vegetable oil (a silicone mold does not need greasing). Pour 2–3 tablespoons of green dough into the center of the pan. Pour 2–3 tablespoons of pink dough into the center of the green dough. Then pour 2–3 tablespoons of yellow dough into the center of the pink, followed by orange. Repeat the entire procedure until the dough is finished.
Step 4
Bake for 40–45 minutes at 392°F.
