- Rhubarb - 6 pieces
- Strawberry - 10.6 oz
- Granulated sugar - 1.3 cups
- Butter - 2.8 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Citrus Zest Mix - 2 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour - 1¼ cups
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 0.1 teaspoons
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Buttermilk - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease a 22x22 cm square baking dish with butter.
Step 2
Chop the rhubarb and strawberries into small pieces and transfer them to a bowl. Add 2/3 cup of sugar and mix. Spread in the prepared dish and level it out.
Step 3
In another bowl, mix the remaining sugar with softened butter until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg, orange zest, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix both mixtures together and add the buttermilk. Pour the batter over the berries and smooth it out.
Step 4
Bake until done, about 50–55 minutes.
