Rich Kefir Pie with Cabbage
Ingredients
- Kefir - 4 fl oz
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - 4 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 14.1 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- White Cabbage - 17.6 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 4 pieces
- Onion - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour room temperature kefir into a bowl.
Step 2
Add room temperature sunflower oil to the kefir.
Step 3
Add salt and sugar to the mixture of kefir and sunflower oil. Mix well.
Step 4
Pour dry yeast into the sifted flour. Mix the yeast with the flour.
Step 5
Combine the yeast and flour mixture in the bowl with the kefir, sunflower oil, salt, and sugar.
Step 6
Knead a soft, elastic dough. Place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a dry towel, and put it in a warm place to rise.
Step 7
Sauté the cabbage, boil the eggs, and add onion (I prefer it fresh).
Step 8
Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out one part and place it in a greased baking dish.
Step 9
Spread the sautéed cabbage over the dough.
Step 10
Roll out the second part of the dough and place it over the filling. Pinch the edges.
Step 11
Brush the pie with egg yolk. This step can be skipped; the pie will brown well without it.
Step 12
Let the pie sit at room temperature for about 20-25 minutes. During this time, the dough will rise a bit more. Place it in an oven preheated to 356°F.
Step 13
Bake the pie for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and cover with a dry towel.
