Rotten Stump Cake with Sour Cream Frosting
Ingredients
- Sugar - 10.6 oz
- Kefir - 8 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 1½ cups
- Sour Cream - 17.6 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Jam - 8.8 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat the eggs with sugar (250 grams).
Step 2
Add the jam and the kefir mixed with baking soda. It is recommended to mix in a tall bowl, as the mixture starts to foam!!
Step 3
Add the flour.
Step 4
Mix everything together. The batter will be liquid — it should flow off the spoon.
Step 5
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake two large layers. Bake each layer for about 15–20 minutes at a temperature of 180–392°F.
Step 6
Cut each layer into two parts. This will yield 4 finished layers.
Step 7
For the frosting, whip the sour cream and the remaining sugar until smooth.
Step 8
Layer the cakes on top of each other. To make the layers softer and juicier, you can soak them with syrup or fruit drink.
Step 9
Pour the frosting over the layers and sprinkle with nuts or raisins. You can use candied fruits. To your taste!
Step 10
Let it soak a bit, and then it can be served with tea!
