Description
You can prepare cranberries in the same way. To help the berry coating dry faster, place the finished candies in an oven preheated to 122°F (50°C) for 10 minutes. First, line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Store in a dry, cool place in a cardboard or wooden box for no more than 1 month.
Ingredients
- Black Rowan - 0.7 cups
- Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Egg white - ½ piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
- Powdered Sugar - 5 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sort fresh rowan berries (preferably black rowan), wash them, and dry them.
Step 2
Rub the granulated sugar with the egg white until a thick, uniform white mass is obtained. Add the lemon juice and whip again.
Step 3
Coat the berries in the egg white mixture, then immediately toss them in the powdered sugar and coat again to form a thick crust.
Step 4
Place the berries in a single layer on parchment paper or a plate dusted with powdered sugar, and leave to dry.
Step 5
Once the sugar coating hardens, the candies can be served as a standalone dessert, as well as with ice cream and whipped cream.
