- Margarine - 4.4 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Sugar - ¼ cup
- Cottage cheese - 10.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 3 tablespoons
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Salt - a pinch
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
The margarine should be frozen. It's enough to keep it in the freezer for an hour.
Step 2
Mix sugar (¼ cup), flour (1 cup), salt, and baking powder. Grate the frozen margarine into this mixture. Mix well until it forms a fine crumbly texture. Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 3
For the filling, mix cottage cheese with sugar and sour cream. I do this in a blender. The egg is useful if you need to bind the liquid mixture. However, then the filling will taste completely different, more like a cottage cheese casserole. I've made both versions, and I prefer it without the egg.
Step 4
Line the pie dish with parchment paper. Pour half of the crumble mixture, then spread the filling on top. Sprinkle with the remaining crumble. Bake at 392°F for 30 minutes.
