Rye Flour Pie with Jam

Ingredients

  • Sugar - 2.6 oz
  • Butter - 5.3 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 4.1 oz
  • Coarsely Ground Rye Flour - 3.9 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Jam - 7.1 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Chop the butter with the flours until crumbly, add sugar, salt, and the egg, and knead the dough until it forms a ball. Shape the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

After the time has passed, take the dough out, roll it out, and place it in a baking dish. Prick it frequently with a fork and bake at 347°F for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Remove the base from the oven and spread the jam on top. Cut strips from the remaining dough and arrange them over the jam in a lattice pattern. Bake for another 10 minutes at the same temperature. Remove and dust with powdered sugar.
