Description

The energy value of the entire loaf of bread is 1100 kcal. Rye flour can be fully or partially replaced with wheat or whole grain flour.

Ingredients

  • Coarsely Ground Rye Flour - 5.6 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 2.1 oz
  • Kefir - 6 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a deep bowl, combine the wheat flour and rye flour.

Step 2

Add the baking soda and salt. Optionally, you can add any flavorings, such as caraway seeds or dried herbs.

Step 3

Mix the dry ingredients and make a well in the center.

Step 4

Pour the kefir into this well.

Step 5

Add the refined vegetable oil.

Step 6

Mix everything first with a spoon. Then knead the dough by hand, rolling it into a ball. Slightly flatten the dough ball on top and make a crosswise cut.

Step 7

Place the prepared dough on a greased baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle the top of the future loaf with wheat flour.

Step 8

Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 180-392°F for approximately 30-40 minutes. Allow the finished bread to cool completely before serving.
