Ingredients

  • Watermelon - 6 lbs
  • White Cabbage - 2 lbs
  • Salt - 2 tablespoons
  • Carrot - 7.1 oz
  • Green peppercorns - to taste
  • Dill - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Shred the cabbage.

Step 2

Grate the carrot.

Step 3

Mix the grated carrot and cabbage and add salt.

Step 4

Add spices.

Step 5

Peel the watermelon and remove all seeds.

Step 6

Place a small layer of cabbage at the bottom of a three-liter jar.

Step 7

Add the watermelon, which should be twice thicker than the cabbage layer.

Step 8

Alternate layers of cabbage and watermelon. The layers should be packed tightly. The top layer should be cabbage.

Step 9

Seal the jar with a plastic lid and place it in a cool place.
