Description

Samosas are very tasty when served hot.

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
  • Poultry - 24.7 oz
  • Onion - 7.1 oz
  • Whole egg - 1 piece
  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a bowl, place the flour and 1/3 teaspoon of salt. Grate the cold butter into the flour using a coarse grater. Mix it with the flour periodically to prevent clumping. Mix well, then pour in 100 ml of cold water. Knead the dough into a ball with your hands (do not knead for too long). Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or longer.

Step 2

Prepare the filling. Peel the onion and chop it very finely. Remove the meat from the chicken thighs and chop it finely (do not remove the fat to ensure the samosas are juicier). From 700 g, I got about 500 g of chicken meat.

Step 3

In a bowl, combine the onion, chicken meat, salt (I added 0.5 teaspoon), and season generously with pepper. Mix well.

Step 4

Shape the samosas. Divide the dough in half and return one part to the refrigerator. Roll the second part into a thick sausage and cut it into 7 pieces. Flatten each piece of dough with your hands. Then roll it out into a thin circle with a diameter of about 12 cm (add flour if necessary).

Step 5

Place a large mound of filling in the center. Lift two edges and pinch them together. Lift the third edge and pinch it as well. Also, press the corners firmly. Turn it over to form a pointed triangle. Repeat the same process with the remaining dough. Place the prepared samosas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 6

Add a tablespoon of water to the egg yolk and whisk. Brush the samosas with the mixture. Optionally, sprinkle a little sesame on top. Place in a preheated oven at 356°F. Bake for 40–50 minutes until lightly golden on the surface.
