Savory Rolls with Pesto and Cheese
Ingredients
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Sugar - 0.5 oz
- Milk - 7 fl oz
- Water - 7 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 7 fl oz
- Pesto - 1.8 oz
- Wheat Flour - 26.5 oz
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Herbes de Provence - 1 teaspoon
- Feta cheese - 7.1 oz
- Gruyère cheese - 3.5 oz
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 3.5 oz
- Egg white - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm water with the addition of sugar.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of flour to the yeast.
Step 3
Place the mixture in a warm place for 10–15 minutes.
Step 4
Sift the flour, add warm milk, vegetable oil, the yeast mixture, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Step 5
Add the pesto.
Step 6
Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Transfer to a deep bowl greased with vegetable oil and cover with plastic wrap. Leave for 1.5–2 hours.
Step 7
Prepare the cheese filling. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater, soften the feta cheese with a fork. Combine all the cheese in a bowl and mix well.
Step 8
Divide the dough into equal parts (10–12 pieces).
Step 9
Roll each part into a sheet, place the filling on one edge, and cut the remaining space into thin strips about 0.5 cm thick, reaching the filling.
Step 10
Start rolling the dough from the cheese side. You should get a striped roll.
Step 11
Brush the rolls with egg yolk and place them in an oven preheated to 356°F. Bake for 20–25 minutes.

The dish is ready.
