Description
You can skip the sauce altogether and just mix the berries with sugar. You can basically add anything you like: any fruits, berries, cinnamon, vanilla, or dried fruits. It is not necessary to add cocoa. This is just one of the delicious variations.
Ingredients
- Kefir - 8 fl oz
- Semolina - 8 fl oz
- Sugar - 12.7 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 8 fl oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Serviceberries - 10.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 0 fl oz
- Beans - 1 piece
- Cocoa Powder - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour 240 ml of semolina and 360 g of sugar into 240 ml of kefir (you can replace kefir with thin sour cream).
Step 2
Let this mixture of semolina, sugar, and dairy products sit for about 1 hour. During this time, the semolina will swell, and the sugar will dissolve.
Step 3
Add 2 eggs, 240 ml of flour, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture. Beat the batter well with a mixer.
Step 4
For the sauce, blend blackberries, 120 g of sugar, banana, and sour cream in a blender.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 6
Grease the baking dish with butter and sprinkle with semolina — this way, the crust will turn out better and will be deliciously crispy. Pour one-third of the batter into the dish, then a layer of sauce, followed by another third of the batter mixed with cocoa, and finally the last third of the batter on top without cocoa.
Step 7
Place the semolina cake in the oven at 356°F for about 40–50 minutes.
