Description

SESAME. The seed contains 25% protein and 65% essential oil; organic acids, amino acids histidine and tryptophan, vitamins C and E, pectins and resinous substances, mucilage, phytosterol, proteins, and soluble carbohydrates. Sesame is a rejuvenating tonic for Vata constitution, as well as for bones and teeth. Black seeds are better as they contain more solar energy. Sesame seeds have a sattvic nature and generate sattvic tissues in the body, making them excellent food for those practicing yoga (30g daily).
