Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Corn Flour for Polenta - 1.8 oz
- Butter - 8.8 oz
- Ground Almonds - 1.8 oz
- Ground dried cherries - 1.8 oz
- Almond - ½ teaspoon
- Chili jam - 8 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Sift the powdered sugar, flour, and corn flour into a bowl. Add the ground almonds and butter. Rub together until the mixture is homogeneous.
Step 3
Finely chop the dried cherries and add them to the dough, pour in the almond extract, and knead the dough.
Step 4
Wrap in plastic wrap and leave in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from the refrigerator and roll out on a lightly floured surface. Cut out heart shapes from the dough.
Step 6
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put in the oven for 8–10 minutes, until the dough just starts to turn slightly golden.
Step 7
Using the neck of a bottle or any similar press, press a circle in the center of each cookie and fill it with cherry jam.
Step 8
Return to the oven and bake until done or golden brown.
Step 9
Place on a rack, allow to cool, and dust with powdered sugar.
