Description
Instead of margarine, you can use butter, and instead of baking soda, you can use baking powder. You can also use zest to taste instead of vanilla. This recipe has been passed down through generations in our family. The dough is easy and quick to prepare, and the pies and cookies turn out very delicious.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Margarine - 5.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - a pinch
- Vanilla salt - to taste
- Activated Baking Soda - ¼ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add baking soda, salt, vanilla, and the egg to the sugar, and beat this mixture until it is light and fluffy.
Step 2
Add the softened butter or margarine, and beat again until you have a uniform, creamy light mixture.
Step 3
Then, add the flour and knead the dough.
Step 4
After kneading the dough, it should be well worked on the table. Shortcrust pastry is kneaded in a cool place and quickly, so it doesn't become greasy.
Step 5
From the dough, you can make cookies, pastries, and cakes. Bake at a temperature of 220–446°F. Baking time depends on the size of the products.
