Description
Shortcrust Pie with Blackcurrant Jam
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Vanilla - a pinch
- Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 2½ cups
- Blackcurrant Jam - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Melt the butter in a water bath. Then let it cool. Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Beat the eggs and sugar until white. Add vanilla, baking soda, and the melted cooled butter. Mix everything together.
Step 3
Gradually add the flour and mix. When the dough becomes hard to mix, grease your hands with sunflower oil and continue kneading; it will not stick to your hands. The dough should have a consistency that makes it easy to roll out (I pressed it into the form with my hands).
Step 4
Divide the finished dough into two parts, put the smaller part in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Place the second part in a baking dish.
Step 5
Then spread the jam over the dough, leveling it evenly across the surface. Take the part of the dough from the freezer, grate it on a coarse grater, and sprinkle it on top of the jam.
Step 6
Place in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes. It is better to remove the pie from the form when it has cooled.
