  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour - 1.8 oz
  • Vanilla Pod - 1 piece
  • Sugar - 2.6 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Whole egg - 3 pieces
  • Chopped almonds - 1.8 oz
  • Milk - 8 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 392°F.

Step 2

Heat water with butter and sugar on the stove until the butter melts. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and add the flour. Stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture turns into a smooth paste and forms a ball that easily pulls away from the sides. Allow to cool slightly, then gradually add the beaten eggs, mixing well after each addition. The dough should be shiny and soft enough to be piped from a pastry bag, but firm enough to hold its shape, so you may not need all the eggs, depending on their size.

Step 3

Fill a pastry bag with the dough. Pipe small balls of dough onto baking sheets lined with damp parchment paper, leaving enough space between them for expansion. Brush the tops of the balls with the remaining egg (if all eggs are used, take milk), and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Step 4

Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven. Puncture each ball on the side to release steam. Cool on a rack and serve.
