- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup

- Poppy seed paste - 2 teaspoons
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon

Beat the egg with sugar, then add the sour cream and flour mixed with baking soda.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F), stir the mixture, and pour the batter into a round baking pan greased with butter and dusted with flour.

Bake the cake for about 30-40 minutes, checking readiness with a toothpick - if no batter remains on the toothpick after piercing the center, the cake is ready.

Allow the baked cake to cool and cut it in half lengthwise.

For the cream: 1 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of sugar. Whip the sour cream with sugar and chill well in the refrigerator. Soak the cake layers with the cream. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
