Description
It is better to use sour apples. If the apples are sweet, it is advisable to reduce the amount of sugar.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Vanilla salt - 0.7 oz
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Milk - 1 fl oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
- Cardamom - 1 teaspoon
- Apple - 4 pieces
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Raisins - 4 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the apples: core them and cut into cubes.
Step 2
Soak the raisins. I soak them in red wine. This makes the flavor and aroma even spicier.
Step 3
Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar.
Step 4
Add melted butter and milk, and mix well.
Step 5
Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and cardamom, then add to the previously prepared mixture. Mix well. The batter should have the consistency of thick sour cream.
Step 6
Grease a baking dish with butter. Spread half of the batter. Place the apples and drained raisins on top of the batter. Cover with the second half of the batter.
Step 7
Bake at 356°F for 40–50 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
