Ingredients
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Light Molasses - 2.1 oz
- Large eggs - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 2 cups
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda - 2 teaspoons
- Ground clove - 1 teaspoon
- Brown Sugar - 0.3 cups
- Grated Ginger Root - ½ teaspoon
- Butter - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl, beat the softened butter with white sugar. Add the lightly beaten egg and molasses. Mix well.
Step 2
In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
Step 3
Combine both mixtures and knead to form a soft and slightly sticky dough.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease a baking sheet with butter.
Step 5
Shape the dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll them in brown sugar.
Step 6
Place the balls on the baking sheet about 5 cm apart and bake in the oven for about 7-10 minutes until done (the baking time affects the softness of the cookies - the longer they bake, the drier they become).
