Description
Improvised gingerbread cookies that are very tasty. Not overly sweet and quite filling — just right for breakfast.
Ingredients
- Oat flakes - 3.5 oz
- 7 Grain Flakes - 3.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1.1 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Dates - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grind the oat flakes into fine crumbs, pile them on the table, add the spices, chop the butter, and rub it into the oat flour, then add the grain flakes.
Step 2
Remove the pits from the dates, place them in a blender bowl, add the egg, and blend into a smooth puree.
Step 3
Combine the egg-date puree with the mixture of flakes and knead into a firm dough.
Step 4
Sprinkle the work surface with whole wheat flour, roll out the dough to a thickness of 5 mm, and cut out cookies in any shape.
Step 5
Bake at 374°F for 15-20 minutes (depending on how you want them — if baked longer, they will be hard, almost like crackers; if less, they will be softer).
