Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Water - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Pecans - 5.3 oz
- Cashews - 5.3 oz
- Walnuts - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - 0.7 cups
- Cumin - 2 teaspoons
- Ground cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Paprika - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place 2 racks in the oven at the upper and middle levels, and preheat to 284°F. Grind the sugar in a blender for 1 minute.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white and water with salt. Add the nuts and mix slightly to coat them with this mixture. Transfer to a strainer for 5 minutes to let the nuts dry a bit.
Step 3
Mix the sugar, cumin, cayenne pepper, and paprika, and sprinkle over the nuts. Evenly distribute the nuts on 2 pieces of parchment paper and place in the oven. After 25 minutes of baking, swap the racks to ensure the nuts bake evenly. After that, bake for another 25 minutes until the nuts are dry and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool completely — this will take about 30 minutes.
