Description
This is a luxurious dessert option for your most cherished guests. Red wine gives the plums a rich color and enhances the aroma of fragrant spices. The recipe author is John Smith.
Ingredients
- Star anise - 1 piece
- Plums - 15 pieces
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Vanilla Pod - 1 piece
- Nutmeg - a pinch
- Cinnamon - 2 pieces
- Red Grape Juice - 3 fl oz
- Light Molasses - 5 tablespoons
- Granulated sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Sauté the plums in 50 grams of butter for a few minutes. Add the split vanilla pod, star anise, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar, then pour in the wine, molasses, and 50 ml of water. Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat for 6-8 minutes. When the plums are soft and the liquid has turned into syrup, transfer both to a baking dish.
Step 2
Prepare the crumble topping: mix the remaining butter with the flour (the mixture will resemble bread crumbs) and add the brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture over the plums and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the crumble is golden brown.
Step 3
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with ice cream or heavy cream.
