Description
Instead of pumpkin puree, you can use apple puree — it will turn out just as good. You can also add currant jam — it adds a pleasant tartness.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 3½ cups
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda - 3 teaspoons
- Ground clove - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
- Sugar - 3 cups
- Ground clove - ½ teaspoon
- Pumpkin - 17.6 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 3 cups
- Milk - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
If you have ready-made pumpkin puree, use it. If not, make it by cutting the pumpkin into cubes and baking it in the oven for 20–25 minutes until soft. Then puree the baked pumpkin.
Step 2
Sift the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, and spices.
Step 3
Whip the egg whites, then add the egg yolks, sugar, oil, and pumpkin puree while whipping.
Step 4
Gradually add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, stirring.
Step 5
Pour into molds (keeping in mind that the cake will rise twice during baking).
Step 6
Bake at a temperature of 160–356°F for 1 hour.
