Spiced Raisin Kulich
Ingredients
- Water - 1 qt
- Wheat Flour - 10 cups
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Large eggs - 6 pieces
- Dry yeast - 2 tablespoons
- Raisins - to taste
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Ground clove - ½ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Knead a stiff dough from 0.4 liters of warm water, 2 tablespoons of fresh yeast, and the corresponding amount of flour (approximately 10 cups). Leave it to rise.
Step 2
When the dough has risen, dilute it with 0.8 liters of warm water and let it rise again.
Step 3
Add butter, eggs, cinnamon, cloves, and 1 cup of sugar to the dough and knead by hand for an hour or more.
Step 4
Then shape the kulich, let it proof, brush with egg, sprinkle with chopped almonds and sugar (1 teaspoon), decorate with raisins, and bake.
