Ingredients
- Espresso - 3 fl oz
- Liquid dark chocolate - to taste
- Candied fruits - to taste
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Self-rising flour - 6.2 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 2.1 oz
- Buttermilk - 5 fl oz
- Coffee Liqueur - 2 teaspoons
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Butter - 4.2 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 4 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - 8.8 oz
- Brown Sugar - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Take the butter out of the refrigerator.
Step 10
Spread two-thirds of the mixture over one cake layer, place the second layer on top, then add the remaining mixture. Top with grated chocolate.
Step 2
Grease two 20-centimeter cake pans with butter and lightly dust with flour.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine brown sugar and vegetable oil, add eggs, and beat until the mixture lightens in color.
Step 4
Add buttermilk and espresso, and mix well.
Step 5
Sift the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder into the bowl, and mix thoroughly.
Step 6
Divide the mixture evenly between the pans, smooth with a spatula, and bake for 20 minutes (until done).
Step 7
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.
Step 8
Sift powdered sugar into a bowl, and add finely chopped ginger.
Step 9
In a separate bowl, beat the butter for about 1 minute, gradually add powdered sugar, ginger, and coffee extract, continuing to beat.
