Spicy Ginger Muffins
Ingredients
- Butter - 2.1 oz
- Maple syrup - 2 fl oz
- Brown Sugar - 2.5 oz
- Wheat Flour - 3.9 oz
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 2 fl oz
- Candied fruits - to taste
- Water - 4 teaspoons
- Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 10
Drizzle the cooled muffins with the glaze and decorate with chopped candied ginger. Allow the glaze to set for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a saucepan, place the butter, pour in the syrup, and add the sugar. Heat over low heat, stirring until the butter melts.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and ground ginger.
Step 4
Using a mixer, beat the egg with the milk.
Step 5
Let the butter mixture cool slightly. Then mix it with the dry ingredients and gradually pour in the beaten eggs.
Step 6
Chop the candied ginger, add it to the batter, and mix well.
Step 7
Line a non-stick muffin pan for 6 muffins with paper liners (or use silicone ones). Fill each cup ¾ full with batter.
Step 8
Bake in the oven for 20–30 minutes (depending on the oven).
Step 9
After baking, let the muffins cool. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze: in a separate small bowl, add about 4 teaspoons of water to the powdered sugar to achieve a thick glaze.
