My favorite recipe for the most delicious sponge roll!
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 5.3 oz
- Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
- 10% cream - 7 fl oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Jam - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Batter: Whip 3 eggs with 150 g of fine sugar very well (whipping for 5-7 minutes is crucial for achieving a truly airy sponge).
Step 2
Mix the flour with the baking powder and vanilla (lately I have been using only 00 flour, light and airy - all products made with it are simply delightful).
Step 3
Combine the whipped mixture with the flour mixture.
Step 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the batter into a layer no thicker than 0.5 cm. Place in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for 15-20 minutes (check for doneness with a toothpick).
Step 5
Roll the hot batter into a roll along with the paper.
Step 6
Prepare the filling. You can use anything you like. I really love the combination of plum or strawberry jam and whipped cream.
Step 7
Whip the cream with sugar until fluffy.
Step 8
Unroll the cooled roll, remove it from the paper, spread the batter first with jam, then with cream, and carefully roll it back. For decoration, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
