Strawberry and Cream Pie
Ingredients
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 2.1 oz
- Corn Flour for Polenta - 2.1 oz
- Cream of tartar - 2 teaspoons
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Brown Sugar - 6 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Whipped Cream - 10 fl oz
- Chili jam - 2 tablespoons
- Strawberry - 17.6 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Grease 2 round cake pans with butter and line with parchment paper. Lightly dust with flour.
Step 3
Sift the flour, corn flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda.
Step 4
Beat the eggs with the sugar for 5 minutes until light. Gradually fold in the flour mixture and mix well, adding hot milk. Divide the batter between the 2 pans and bake for 18–20 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes. Then remove from the pans and let cool.
Step 5
Mix the cream and powdered sugar and whip.
Step 6
Place 1 cake layer on a plate and spread with jam. Top with half of the whipped cream and half of the halved strawberries. Cover with the other cake layer, spread the remaining whipped cream and strawberries on top. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
