Ingredients
- Milk - 24 fl oz
- Sugar - 10.6 oz
- Corn Starch - 2.1 oz
- Whole egg - 2 pieces
- Strawberry - 2 lbs
- Amaretto Liqueur - 6 fl oz
- Sponge Cake Base - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the custard. Bring 720 ml of milk and 300 g of sugar to a boil.
Step 2
Mix the remaining milk with cornstarch and salt. Add the egg yolk and mix. Gradually pour in the hot milk into the egg mixture while stirring, and heat on low until it comes to a boil. Add the liqueur and remove from heat. Let it cool for 2 hours.
Step 3
Combine 250 g of strawberries with 60 g of sugar and heat for 20 minutes.
Step 4
Whip the cooled custard with a mixer.
Step 5
Layer the diced sponge cake, custard, strawberry sauce, and whole strawberries. Repeat once more. Chill.
