- Shortcrust Cake Mix - 17.6 oz
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Water - ½ cup
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Corn Starch - 3 tablespoons

Roll out the pastry into two layers, placing one in a baking dish, either paper or foil.

Cut out many hearts from the second layer.
Step 3
For the filling, mix the chopped strawberries with sugar, dissolve the cornstarch in water, and bring to a boil with the strawberries—let it thicken slightly. Cool and pour into the dish. Starting from the edge, tightly layer the hearts, leaving a hole in the center. Brush with egg yolk, sprinkle with sugar, and bake at 392°F for 20 minutes. The crust should turn golden.
